Help Stop Hunger!

Do you know what it’s like to go hungry?

I don’t mean missing just one or two meals. I don’t even mean fasting for a few days and having a refrigerator full of food waiting until your done. I mean having NO food to eat. Period. No food to give to your children, no food to give to your spouse, no food to give to your neighbor.

$5,000 will fill this container with Maize & Beans for 3 months.

Having no food is the plight of the poor in Tharaka.

When the rains don’t come neither does the harvest. There is no government safety net, no expanded welfare program, no meals on wheels. There is just hunger.

After helping with our Food Distribution Day, Alfie, a friend of Each1 Feed1, wrote the following:

“This moment moved me so much… many of these AIDS stricken (very sick) men and woman walked 7 MILES!! to get 50 pounds of maize and beans to then carry 50 pounds back to their homes. Last year when we were here, one of the woman had just died.

There has been such a drought this year so there has been more famine than normal. Margaret (a cook) and the woman who measures out the food told me that they were pleased that no one had died this year since Each1 Feed1 has provided medicine and food to the group.

That was so great to hear. I was completely moved and stirred emotionally to help… knowing they had hope, humble hearts, such struggles in their life but yet such beautiful smiles. I had to walk away and cry with Bill for a minute and then return to scoop the beans. Count your blessings and kiss your loved ones and bless your enemies. We really do need to count our blessings.”

I believe that we are blessed so we can be a blessing to others.

Won’t you help feed a hungry family? This month I hope you will give your best gift so we can buy beans and maize and fill our shipping container. The cost to completely fill our container for three months is $5,000. A gift of $10,000 will feed the hungry for 6 months.

Believing for God’s best for you,
