Rescuing One Girl At A Time

During our most recent trip to Kenya, we endured several difficulties. The water supply was running low, the heat was excruciating, and we learned of some devastating things happening in the surrounding area of Tharaka, specifically with two girls.

We rescued a 16 year orphan girl, *Martha, (*name changed to protected her identify) last week who was on her way to be married. Her brother was in the process of selling her for a dowry payment. But first she had been brutally circumcised.

Kyle was told about Martha at the Gathunga police station. The police kept her in a cell with the other prisoners until we sent Pastor Solomon to get her. Had we not sent for her, she may have been in a jail cell for weeks, even though she was the victim, as the police had no place to keep her. Martha is now safe in our care, but it is now even more urgent than before that we complete our security wall and safety gate for our children’s protection. $18,000 is still needed. Donate now.

Just before Kyle and I left for the US, and through divine intervention, we moved one of our girls, Sarah, from Tharaka to a safe house in Nairobi.

Sarah was raped a few weeks ago by a man who offered to give her a ride home on his motorcycle. They released the man from jail within 24 hours and he was still lurking around the town. Sarah was so happy to leave as you can only imagine. A big thank you goes out to our friends, Pastor John and Molly Stern from Nairobi Lighthouse Church, for connecting us with Sarah’s new home.

Please pray for the girls in Tharaka especially during the month of December as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is usually performed during this long school break. This wicked practice is done in secret and under the cover of darkness.

Ephesians 5:1 says, “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” As we expose this evil deed we are able to stop this harmful practice but we need your help! We urgently need to hire a Christian counselor to come to our campus on a regular basis. $400 per month is needed. Donate now.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers!

P.S. Would you consider a one-time gift to help take care of our children? Many of the crops have failed and the need for food has increased. $4,300.00 will fill 50 bags of maize and 50 bags of beans.
