Hunger…
It’s a word you may have dealt with before, more of an inconvenience than anything else. But for thousands of children in Tharaka, hunger is a tragic and familiar reality. Hunger was a reality for Mercy. Mercy was a beautiful little girl who was abandoned by her father. Her mother did the best she could to raise Mercy and her four siblings, but they were barely able to survive on the crops produced by their drought- stricken garden.
Unfortunately, things grew from bad to worse as Mercy’s mother became very ill and died, leaving her children with their elderly grandmother.
For many children in Tharaka, this story of hunger, poverty, and abandonment is repeated again and again.
Each1Feed1 was working in Mercy’s village and visited the mud hut where she was living. Seeing her dire situation, our staff brought the children to our campus and began caring for them. They were given food, water, clothing, education, medical care and most importantly, the love of Jesus.
As we approach the holidays, we are asking that you join with us to help raise the support needed to continue to care for children like Mercy. Proverbs 31:8-9 “Speak up for the rights of the down and outers. Speak out for justice! Stand up for the poor and destitute!”
Give the gift of life this holiday season by sponsoring a child in honor of a friend or loved one. Please show your support by making your gift now.
May God richly bless you as you give,
