We are entering the final stretch of school at Mama Linda’s Excellent Academy as our third term ends in November. In a country where school is everything the pressure to perform well on the exams is excruciatingly high.
As the call went out in our last newsletter for help at MLEA, God put it on the hearts of two retired educators, Frieda and Richard Dickson, to answer the call.
A huge thank you goes out to Frieda and Richard as they arrive in Tharaka this week to help prepare our Standard 8 students for their very important Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exam. As well, we are grateful to Christian Genco who prepared an intranet server with targeted online lessons from Khan Academy that the Dickson’s took with them to Kenya.
Thanks to your faithful financial support we are the only primary school in Tharaka to have a computer lab, offer classes in technology, and video learning for our students.
Please pray for the Dickson’s transition as they work at MLEA over the next two months. We believe a key component to reaching the next generation of Kenyan leaders for Jesus is through our school.
Christian, Frieda, & Richard are a great example of each one doing what they can. We must use the gifts that God has give us to GIVE HOPE and BUILD A FUTURE. What part will you play in raising up the next generation of leaders to serve God and others?
Some are able to go to Kenya like Richard and Frieda. Some are gifted in technology like Christian and he is able to equip those going with the best tools to succeed in their mission. Some are blessed and able to give towards the work God is doing through others by giving.
